US Ambassador to Albania, Yuri Kim spoke today with the media about the accommodation of Afghans in the country after the political regime change there, appreciating the hospitality of Albania and explaining that their stay is temporary, before settling in the US.
Ambassador Kim: “We just had a fruitful meeting on the very challenging situation in Afghanistan. We thought it would be a good idea to coordinate closely.
“First of all, let me say that, like everyone else, we are deeply affected by the action of the Albanian people, by the decision to provide temporary shelter to the people in great need. “We are touched by how the Albanian people are aware of how they once were in the place of those who needed shelter.
“The situation is changing very quickly, the details have not been decided yet, but the United States will continue to coordinate closely with the Albanian government. Let me close by expressing once again my gratitude to the Albanian people for what you have decided to do. Thank you very much! ” Said Kim, among other things.
