The US Ambassador, Donald Lu, had an informal meeting with the
Democratic party leader, Lulzim Basha, most likely discussing about the
judiciary reform.
The opposition declared they would not return in Parliament to vote the Vetting law institution until their request for a technical government is fulfilled.
The opposition leader presented the request for a technical also to the OSCE and ODIHR mission, which is attending a visit in Tirana to evaluate the pre-electoral situation.
Basha said that the elections are in danger because the government is not implementing the decriminalization law, and because the money of the drug traffic may be used to buy votes.
Basha said that the crime and drug has increased into becoming a real threat for free and fair elections, and underlined that the government has not reflected after the recent OSCE-ODIHR recommendatins.
Basha said that Edi Rama has ruined elections made so far by violating free vote through crimes, threats and purchase.
He added that the CEC has acted unilaterally due to government pressure and threats. Basha told the OSCE ODIHR that the only way to have free and fair elections would be having a technical government that guarantees free and fair elections and which focuses on the implementation of the decriminalization law, fight against drugs, crime and illegal traffic.
