US Ambassador Doland Lu: “There are four clains leading crime in Albania’

Strong declarations come from the US Ambassador to Tirana, Donald Lu, on the 20th anniversary of the Magistrate School.
Lu said that the that there are four main clans controlling Albania, and that cannabis will be back if the “big fish” are not arrested.
“Albanians must finally be proud for the progress against cannabis cultivation, but the biggest challenge is still ahead. Cannabis will be back until the bigger fish are arrested and imprisoned. There are four main clans which control 20 criminal families, which manage the criminal operations including human traffic, blackmail, car theft and money laundering. These are just some of the names of famous Albanian criminals, from the drug trafficker Emilioano Shullazi, who is suspected of continuing to lead his traffics from the prison cell, or Lul Berisha, the head of the Durres gang who was released earlier from prison; and then Klement Balili, drug trafficker wanted in Greece, but who escaped Albanian justice thanks to the incapability of Prosecutors, Police and the Justice Ministry. There are other Shullazi, Berisha and Balils in Albania”, Ambassador Lu said.
