Albania and Kosovo will have not only same school texts, but also a
unified education system. The Minister of Education, Lindita Nikolli,
declared in a meeting with her Kosovo counterpart that Albania will
change the pre-university system and make it equal to Kosovo’s, from
6+3+3 to 5+4+3 years of pre-university education.
But while the meeting was undergoing at the Ministry, dozens of Kosovo students who have graduated in unaccredited universities have protested because their diplomas are not recognized by the Ministry of Education in Kosovo.
“We are trying to find a complete solution not only for those students, but also for those that will graduate tomorrow, by showing the diploma quality that each university offers, so that they can be successful in the job market”, Nikolli declared.
“The main problem is the accrediting in Albania. We discussed to resolve this problem through professional commissions”, Buja declared.
The Minister of Education declared that the accrediting of all universities will be completed within June. It will be completed by a foreign agency, which will close several problems created.
