The US Ambassador to Kosovo, Greg Delawie, reacted on Twitter after the
UNESCO General Conference failed to admit Kosovo as a member country.
“Today’s vote was disappointing, but the 92 votes show Kosovo has an important place in the international community”, the Ambassador said.
Kosovo’s failure to become UNESCO member encouraged the reactions of politicians, institutions, and opopsition political subjects in Prishtina.
The President of Kosovo said this was a lost chance for promoting the values of this UN agency in Kosovo.
Jahjaga said Kosovo should not be discouraged by this action, since most of the world countries are convinced for its cause.
Prime Minister Isa Mustafa reacted from Lithuania, where he expressed his regret for the lack of international consensus.
As for Serbia’s campaign against Kosovo, Mustafa said it is a racist campaign. He thanked all the supporting countries in the process, especially Albania as sponsor for Kosovo’s accession.
