During this year, Shkodra wasone of the 3 counties in Albania with the highest number of unemployed.
According to official data from the Labor Force Survey, this region marked an increase in the unemployment indicator in the third quarter by 6.4 percentage points compared to the same period a year earlier.
The figures are high and this is also accepted by the employment inspectorate in Shkodra.
For about 10 years, Shkëlqim Hamzi and Përparim Isufi go out every day near “Isa Boletini” square, to look for work.
They tell that they do not even receive economic assistance and their families have no income.
Shkodra turns out to be one of the counties with the highest number of businesses closed during the pandemic, while since January this year the number of officially registered unemployed has increased by over 3000 people.
