Social-economic challenges, identity, ideology, social media and easy ways to travel to Syria and Iraq, have pushed some Kosovo citizens to join terror groups.
These are the findings of a report published by the UNDP. According to the report, social networks and internet are one of the main risk factors for recruiting and radicalization.
The US Ambassador to Prishtina, Greg Delawie, said that the report emphasizes the need to continue the fight against violent extremism.
“As the report shows, violent extremism still spreads messages and ideologies to affect unemployed youth. We need to keep investing on youth, to make sure that they resist against these pressures”, said Greg Delawie, US Ambassador.
