In the Human Development of 2014 Albania is listed 95-th among 187
countries, with remaining problems in education and internal national
development.
The representative of the UN in Albania, Zineb Binjellou Touim, declared that according to this report, Albania should work more in some essential areas.
“Teenagers and senior citizens face various problems. The first 1000 days of a child, the transition from school to jobs cause problems for people. As for gender equality, the reproductive health, the empowering and economic activity, Albania is ranked 44th in 148 countries”, Touim declared.
In the presentation of the report it resulted that the education and national production of Albania remains in lower levels compared to other countries of the region.
“Albania is ranked last, compared to the neighboring countries. It is interesting that this indicator is related to the education level, economic development, etc. As for the longevity, Albania is better than others, but not for education and internal production”, declared Eno Ngjela, analyst at PNUD.
