The local government and environmentalists took advantage of the Saint
Mark celebrations to promote the first anniversary of the declaration of
Ulza as a National Park.

The Ulza residents gathered in the park to celebrate not only this holy day, but also to promote several of their agricultural products and traditional food.

“This area was declared as a national park and this is the first time when the values have been recognized by regional institutions. Today’s celebration aims promoting the area”, declared Zamir Dedej, Head of the INKA Association.

The natural park has a surface of 4206 hectares, most of which is full of forests and two lakes, the Ulza and the Shkopet. This is an important area for preserving biodiversity and for developing ecotourism.

Ulez has beautiful nature and poor economy, and that’s why the local government and the representatives for protecting tourist areas have decided to promote traditional food and local produces.
