Two years after drone in Belgrade, Vucic: “Albanians are loyal”

“Albanians are loyal people, that’s why we need to work with them”, said
the PM of Serbia, Alexandar Vucic, asking Serbian businessmen to invest
in Albania.

He said that in a time when economy is important, this is patriotism and the only way that needs to be followed.

“I want to encourage our people to go to Albania and build tourist objects, joint companies. Albanians keep their world and they are good hard-working people. I may be subjective, btu this is good for Serbia. We understand political divisions, but we need to turn our eyes to the future”, Vucic said.

The Albania-Serbia Business Forum in Nish attracted hundreds of curious Serbian journalists and businessmen. In a more relaxed meeting than in Belgrade, it seems that the language has changed.

Edi Rama, exactly two years after the drone in Belgrade’s stadium, says that a lot has been achieved with the bilateral relations so far. Such a meeting was unimaginable back then, according to him.

“One of the reasons why we produce more history that we can handle is that we are small countries, and even our small markets are divided from each other in a world that’s each day more competitive. If someone invests in Tirana, Belgrade, Prishtina, Podgorica, we have crossed a historic obstacle which improves people’s life”, Rama said.

The forum was opened by Marko Cadez, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce in Serbia, who said the work for improving relations must continue. He opened his speech by quoting a story on Top Channel, saying: “I saw a news story on an Albanian outlet about an Albanian salad that is cooked only in Nish. The Albanian journalist and Serbian operator always work together and they always forerun us for what we have gathered here today. This TV has made the best positive story. That’s why we invite you to create our stories”, he said.

Rama and Vucic met once again, and history may change if things are led by economy and development.
