The protest organized today by the opposition in front of the prime minister’s office ended after two hours.
No tensions were recorded in the major protest, where the leaders of the opposition parties, such as Sali Berisha and Ilir Meta, among others, spoke.
The protesters burned the mannequins with the faces of Rama and McGonigal, after the speech of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha.
They first destroyed and then burned them in front of the police cordon positioned in front of the Prime Minister’s Office, but there was no clash between the parties.
Dozens of citizens gathered in Tirana from other districts of Albania in support of the opposition.
With the calls “Enough is enough”, the protesters demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama, this time using as the main argument the involvement of the head of government in the “McGonigal” corruption case.
According to the former prime minister Sali Berisha, PM Rama committed corruption with the former senior official in the FBI, as well as with the Russian oligarch Oliver Deripaska.
