Various areas of Albania were hit today by stormy weather, with heavy rain and lightnings.
Lightning has caused burning damage on two houses.
One in Razëm of Shkodra causing material damage and the other house struck by lightning is in the village of Dedaj in northern Albani.
In the latter, 51-year-old Arben Ivanaj suffered injuries and burns as a result of the lightning.
He was transported to the hospital in Shkodra but died from his wounds.
The second victim believed as a result of inclement weather was found today in the waters near the port of Vlora.
He is a 74-year-old and it has not yet been revealed why the elderly man died in the sea waves. His body was taken out by the Vlora police.
Bad weather with thunderstorms has hit other parts of the country as well. These were small floods in the Lana River in Tirana, where in a few minutes fell a very large amount of rain water. Weather forecasters reported that the amount of rainfall was as much as half that of an entire month.
Meanwhile the areas most affected by the storm are those located between the Mat and Osum rivers. The epicenter of the storm was the area Kruja-Tirana-Elbasan-Gramsh where up to 50 millimeters of rain fell.
In the evening, bad weather is expected to move south to Berat and Gjirokastra, while on weekends, sunny days are expected to return.
