The Summit of Foreign Affair Commissions of European Parliaments is
being held for two days in Prishtina, organized by the Foreign Affairs
Commission of the Kosovo Parliament.

The European MP, Tanja Fajon, said in her speech that Kosovo has progressed during the recent years, and that the signing of the Stabilization and Association Agreement was a significant achievement.

“We need to see the implementation of the agenda that will make Kosovo stronger and a safer country. It is important for completing the visa liberalization process. We are committed to make this real”, Fajon declared.

The European MP added that Kosovo has progressed significantly in the fight against corruption, a process that has gone well, but for which they need to work even more.

“I want to offer support for the Demarkation. I invite the Parliament Members to avoid efforts to stop the processes leading to the visa liberalization process, just for party interests. We must do everything possible to ratify the agreement in the days to come. It is your turn to act”, Fajon said.

“Certainly, the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia must continue”, Fajon added.

The Kosovo Parliament Speaker, Kadri Veseli, said this event is positive news for the country: “Such meetings show the mutual dedication of our countries for deepening our institutional cooperation in the European integration agenda”, Veseli declared.

He spoke about the critical moment that the EU right is currently in, with different voices giving different facts, but, as he said, will be soon rebuked.

“Our will to stay united is stronger than tendencies going towards the opposite. The EU is much more than just bureaucracy of a group of institutional mechanisms”, Veseli declared.

While speaking about the 9th anniversary of independence, the Parliament Speaker said that Kosovo has made the region safer and more stable with its European perspective.

“We have built excellent relations with our neighbors, Albania, Macedonia and Montenegro. We have been involved in an open dialogue with our northern neighbor, Serbia, so that our relations can be normalized, as a first step towards the inevitable path of mutual recognition”, Veseli said.
