Turkish Chief Prosecutor Mehmet Akarca asked Albanian authorities to
cooperate for investigating some persons, opponents of President
Erdogan, who were involved in the June 15th coup of last year.
Turkish law enforcing agencies suspect some of them are hiding in Albania. The request was addressed to the Albanian Prosecutor General, Adriatik Llalla, during a meeting for increasing cooperation between both countries.
Llalla valued the cooperation with Turkey in the fight against organized crime and drug traffic, and suggested his counterpart to sign a bilateral agreement that would enable real-time exchange of investigation information.
