After a long break, the Tirana University Hospital Center performed the second transplant.
The transplant performed on a 40-year-old patient from Shkoder was considered difficult but successful.
The head of the nephrology declared that the hospital must look forward to realize the liver and bone marrow transplant.
“We performed the second transplant in the state owned hospital, and this was our goal. We realized it with success and we aim to make improvements in the future”, declared Nestor Thereska, head of the nephrology department.
The director of TUHC, Saimir Ivziku declared that soon they will realize the national transplant record, and the next transplant operation will be performed this October.
