The Prime Minister of Greece, Alexis Tsipras, said for a private TV in Ioannina that the negotiations with Albania are being held at a ministerial level, and that there is already a positive climate from both sides.
According to Tsipras, before Greece grants its support for opening the EU accession negotiations, Albania must keep a series of promises, many of which made since 2009, such as the maritime border, school texts, cemetery of Greek soldiers and reforms regarding the Greek minority.
As for the Cham case, Tsipras said that it doesn’t exist. “It is in our best interest to be more clear about such topics because a serious national matter needs proper information and trust”, Tsipras said.
As for Kosovo, Tsipras said there are the right conditions to reach a difficult agreement between Belgrade and Prishtina, which Greece would support.
