The US President, Donald Trump, has apparently chosen Diplomat Yuri Kim as Ambassador to Tirana.
The US Embassy has not had a leader since Ambassador Donald Lu left in May 2018.
Yuri Kim is a high-level uS official who has worked in several regions, including China, North Korea, Turkey, Iraq and NATO.
She has been Chief of Staff for the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State from 20015 to 2017, and has also led the office for European security and military-political matters.
Kim has served as Political Consul in Ankara and Baghdad, and as member of the US delegation in the talks that aimed the denuclearization of North Korea.
