The investigations for the triple murder in Tirana this Wednesday are
still undergoing. The Prosecution of Serious Crimes took the case
because of Salvatore Letizzia, an Italian citizen who might be a hired
gun.
Police sources say that Letizzia was caught with a “Glock”, the third gun used in a crime, together with a scooter.
Letizzia was arrested together with Markelian Doci, who killed the person who had attacked his uncle. The triple murder seems to be caused by a drug deal that has already caused two other murders and one person injured.
Victim Mentor Doci was accompanied by Gerti Hoxhaj, a person accused for drug traffic. As soon as they left a bar near the “Queen Geraldine” maternity hospital, they were attacked by two people. Goxhaj died on the spot while Doci was seriously wounded.
Markeljan and Klevis Doci, nephews of the victim, reacted and hit the Italian citizen and one of the attackers with their vehicle. They also killed Besnik Sulku. Salvatore Letizzia tried to hide behind a hotel building, but he was arrested.
Police data show that the gang fight was about a drug deal went wrong. Doci was known by the police after he was attacked and wounded this February. Since then, his nephews had turned into his bodyguards.
Gerti Goxhaj has been arrested for a huge quantity of hashish in Morina, while Besnik Sulku is the brother of Ilirjan Sulku, killed on April 6th, in Rotterdal, Netherlands. The Dutch police identified him and related him to other drug conflicts.
