After the Prosecutor agreed with the request of defendants Gjergji
Thimio and Arben Spaho, the Court decided to give accelerated trial for
the defendants who are charged of stealing artworks in cooperation.

Prosecutor Karanxha declared that there are suspicions that part of the objects that were discovered in the residence of Thimio were taken from different churches. The report of experts showed that only 32 of the 466 artworks are not part of the cultural heritage.

Thimio accused the Socialist Party Parliament Member, Koco Kokedhima, and Prime Minister Edi Rama, saying that he was arrested only two weeks after refused an artwork request of Koco Kokedhima.

Thimio says that Kokedhima wanted to make a gift to the Prime Minister the artwork of Onufri, which mounts up to 1 million EUR, and according to the defendant, Rama wanted to give it to the former British Prime Minister, Tony Blair.

As for the dozens of other icons seized in his house, the collector declared that the Prime Minister and the Minister of Interior made a media show for staining his name.

The defendant accused the Prosecution for not making a complete investigation and for hiding evidence. Kokedhima claims he had sent the phone conversations with Kokedhima as evidence, in which the Parliament Member allegedly told him that he would find other ways for taking the artwork.

The defendant accuses also the police, saying that in his house were found 3000 artworks which do not exist in any of the reports filed by the police. The Prosecution will come out with a final stance regarding his sentence.
