Trees cut down at Lalzit Bay to make room for tourist villas

Trees are being cut at the Lalzit Bay area to make room for new buildings, as demand grows for seaside luxury villas.
In the name of tourism, companies keep damaging the green belt in the forest that had been kept untouched during the ‘90s.
There are piles of waste materials thrown among trees and close to secondary roads.
The Lalzit Bay remains an open construction site as the new tourist season begins. The absence of trees increases erosion and floods.
