Transportation Unions warn strike

The Independent Transportation Union warns blocking the Tirana-Elbasan
tunnel in protest against what they consider dishonest transportation
companies hired by the Tirana Municipality, which, according to them,
has hired a third company that goes through a shorter road.

“The tunnel will be blocked very soon if the Minister of Transports takes no measures for suspending this license. They have given a second license through corruptive methods”, declared Zija Hasani, Union leader.

Representatives of the Tirana-Elbasan transportation protested a few days ago for not being invited by the Tirana Municipality for the tender.

The Municipality explained that the companies licensed to go through the old road will continue with their license, while the winning company will go through the tunnel.
