Tragic accident in Elbasan-Librazhd road

An accident took place in the Elbasan-Librazhd road today, near the Xibrraka village. The crash of three vehicles has caused the death of four people and many others are injured.

Preliminary information say that a BMW in a bad overtake has cut the way of a Korca travel van with several passengers inside.

To avoid the crash, the van driver has deviated by cutting the way of a truck that has crashed both of the vehicles.

Local witnesses have called the police right away, but regardless the quick response of the police and firefighters, it was difficult to bring some of the passengers out of the van, due to the deformed metal parts.

The injured people have been unable to get out of the vehicle for more than 30 minutes. The names of the victims are not made public yet.

Ambulatory services have sent the injured to Elbasan Hospital, and doctors say that they are in serious conditions.

The police is investigating the case.
