Tragedy in a narrow mountainous road

A bus with Albanian tourists went off road in Montenegro last night, causing one 30-year-victim from Tropoja, Orina Kuca.

“Three of the wounded are in difficult conditions. The others are out of life threatening danger”, said Mimoza Veroshi, secretary of the Albanian embassy in Montenegro.

Some of the witnesses sat that the rain, the bad road conditions and the maneuver of the bus to avoid another incoming vehicle were what caused the accident.

“It was very dark. Our driver maneuvered to avoid an incoming vehicle. The woman died on the spot because her body was crushed by the weight of the seats”, says Aleks Manoli, a passenger.

The Tivar Hospital Director, Tomanovic Dragoslav, tells about the engagement of the personal for helping the injured.

“We had 30 patients, three of whom with very serious injuries. The lady was sent to Podgorica, while two others are under intensive therapy. We have a small hospital and we put our entire staff in motion”, the hospital director declared.

The Albanian Health Minister arrived in the Tivar hospital after midnight and checked the situation of the injured. He thanked the doctors for their help

“Unfortunately, there was one tragic consequence. There was a good response by the Montenegrin authorities”, Beqja declared.

The Mayors of Ulqin and Tivar also visited the hospital.
