From December 1st, vehicle fines will not be paid at the Traffic
Inspectorate anymore, but only through banks and the postal office.
This order of the General Police Directory, signed by the General Director Artan Didi, obliges the paying of fines only in these ways, in order to avoid contact with police officers by drivers, cutting this way the chances of corruption.
Another order is that vehicles with due payments will not be allowed to travel abroad.
“All vehicles that have unpaid obligations will not be allowed to leave the Republic of Albania”, says the first paragraph of this order.
The verification will be made through an online electronic system. Drivers will be obliged to pay before traveling abroad, and all border checkpoints will be instructed.
Only after drivers will show the bank receipts, the border police will allow them abroad. This measure was taken to increase the income from fines.
For this reason, Top Channel notifies that the Interior Ministry and the Ministry of Transportations are signing an agreement for establishing a system which will not allow any vehicle that has not paid fines to complete the vehicle check procedure.
