Tourist flux at “Blue Eye”

The first days of July have brought a tourist flux at the Blue Eye, an
oval source of blue water, surrounded by century old trees. This is the
most interesting water source in the feet of the mountain, where you can
find tourists from several countries.

“We rode from Italy to Korce, Gjirokaster and Vlore. The nature is very beautiful and people are very hospitable. There are several services and it wasn’t difficult for us to get oriented”, one tourist says.

“We are staying longer than we had planned in Albania. It is a calm and beautiful place, with an untouched nature. This place amazed us. This motorcycle trip was a dream”, another tourist says.

“I was born in Norway and I have been living in Saranda for several years. I’m one of those foreigners who fell in love with Saranda on the first sight, and I chose this place to live. My children are coming for the first time in Albania, and I thought to show them this place. We took a long walk around the park and everyone is happy. It is sad that Albania is not well known among northern Europe even today”, another tourist says.

The Blue Eye seems to have attracted only foreign visitors, since there were not enough students who prefer to come here after finishing school. This might be because of the lack of investments on roads, which remain problematic. There has been no care for the trees too, and many of their branches are drying out.
