Foreign tourists are reported to have continued to come to Albania even during the month of October, as the INSTAT statistics agency reports that around 700,000 foreigners visited the country, in an increase of 90% compared to a year ago.
Nearly 9 million foreigners have visited Albania in 10 months, while for the entire period the increase is calculated at 32%.
Even the number of Albanians who went abroad in October increased by 41% from a year ago, reflecting the increasing trend of traveling abroad. Throughout the year, there were 5.7 million Albanians who went abroad, or an increase of 20% from the previous year.
The largest number of Europeans who visited the country were those from southern and western Europe.
The largest number of tourists this year was during the month of August, when 2.86 million foreign citizens who visited Albania were registered. Forecasts speak of another influx even during the holiday season, while bookings for 2024 are optimistic.
