Opening the communist archives was the focus of a recent discussion, and
the request this time was made by the Ombudsman, who says that the
government should approve a law for this, saying that it is delayed now
after 23 years.
“It is necessary to approve a law for opening the archives, which would enable individual access to the secret service data for those who are interested, or for those who have suffered from these activities.
It would enable transparency of repressive activities in the secret services, with the guarantee that the access is persons. Protecting subjects from the damage of privacy which could be caused by the collected data.
And finally, it creates the competent institutions for managing the process”, declared Elona Demollari, Spokesperson of the Ombudsman.
