The former Albanian President, Bamir Topi, will meet this Friday morning
the initiating group of the New Democratic Spirit party; a meeting that
might take new important decisions for his future.
As confirmed by sources close to Topi, the meeting will be held at the Tirana Hotel premises at 10:00, and the goal is to clarify the role of the former President in the Party that will run for the first time in the elections of 2013.
The meeting between Topi and NDS was announced one week ago on Top Channel’s “Top Story” of journalist Sokol Balla.
“I will meet Mr. Oketa for a political decision making and if there will be a new line, we will publish it. It is up to them to decide my role. I think that I have always been coherent and I have always said that I would announce position only after the mandate was over. Now that the mandate is over, I can say that I will stay in politics. We will talk about a final decision that might be reached in September or by the end of August”, Topi declared.
On the same show Topi spoke about the need of creating a new political front that would enable the rotation of power.
“The fact that I have had such strong critics for the power administration is an effort for controlling even the smaller things. A government that gives these symptoms, that misuses and falsifies the vote of the President, needs no other sign. It is indispensable to have a political rotation, but I am not predicting how” Topi declared.
