The Albanian Parliament Speaker, Jozefina Topalli, held a meeting with
the British Ambassador, Fiona Mcilwham. The main topic of the dialogue was
the cooperation between both Parliaments.
The Great Britain is implementing in Albania the program “Westminster Foudnation for Democracy”, which, according to Mrs. Topalli, would bring in the Albanian Parliament the example, the experience of UK Parliament best practices.
Since May 8th elections, the Parliament has been functioning only with the MPs of the majority. Referring to the boycott of the opposition, the Parliament Speaker Jozefina Topalli emphasized that the deputies, as representatives of the people, should exert their constitutional duty for voting laws that serve to the country and not to the party.
According to the Albanian Parliament Speaker, every MP has the privilege to vote the reforms for our country, and that no one should stop the MPs from cooperating.
