For the third consequent year, Albania is welcoming 2500 runners from 40 countries of the world, who will run at Tirana’s half-marathon.
Tirana’s Mayor, Erion Veliaj, met with the volunteers and organizers of the marathon, to coordinate the event details.
The Mayor declared that the marathon is a great opportunity to promote the city by welcoming runners from around the world.
He appreciated the contribution of the volunteers, who will help to organize by creating water stations and encouraging music for the runners.
For the first time, the olive wreath will arrive from the place the Marathon originates from, 40 kilometres from Athens.
The Mayor said that the Marathon is a great chance to promote the city’s image, and a good opportunity for hotels, restaurants and souvenir shops to boost their business.
