The project for rehabilitating the Tirana River has continued and 70% of
the work is concluded. The entire project will be completed by Autumn,
The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, inspected the works done so far, by expressing his optimism for the pace of the work.
“I believe the remaining 7 km will be completed by Autumn. The area will not suffer anymore floods, but it will also turn into an attractive area of the city. There will be sportive fields, green spaces, running lanes, recreation areas for the entire city. The property value of 100.000 families has increased. The most discriminated area will soon turn into one of the most privileged. Investments will be not only for tourist and central areas, but also for the suburg”, Veliaj said.
Veliaj said that the collector that is being built will bring a new way of managing sewerage waters, which will not be throuwn anymore in the river.
