The parade of the Armed Forces was different this year. Tirana’s Pedestrian Road served as a meeting pint between the citizens and the army officials.
The “Open Day with the Armed Forces” brought a festive atmosphere for children as well.
The Minister of Defense, Olta Xhacka, said in a speech that Albania’s history is filled with sacrifices and wars, but 74 years after the liberation, a new situation is being created with the Armed Forces.
“Now we are allied with the NATO members, to defend the common values of democracy and rule of law, and not only inside our country. Today’s event brings a good opportunity for civilians to meet our soldiers, although the display shows just a tiny part from the life of these men and women. What they bring to our country cannot be shown in such a small place”, Xhacka declared.
