The Tirana Municipality donated 2000 olive plants to the families living
by the Farka Lake. The olives and decorative trees, will create a green
belt for the lake.
The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, was part of the action for planting the new trees.
“This creates a new type of cooperation. The land from the promenade to the lake will receive investments from the municipality. From there, these olives will be property of local residents. What should we do? Plant more trees, or plant more fights and division? I think we have lost too much with divisions during these 25 years. We have planted only hate, fights and problems. It is time to plant more trees”, Veliaj said.
The Mayor said that the Tirana Municipality will soon start the Orbital Forest Project, closer to the new Tirana Road Rings. This project involves planting around 2 million trees.
Veliaj added that they are also working to improve the public transportation, with the construction of two new ring roads.
