The Albanian writer, Ismail Kadare, celebrated his 83rd anniversary today. But this is a special one.
His house will be returned into a museum for tourists and citizens to visit in Albania’s capital.
The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, in cooperation with architect Elisabetta Terragni, started the project for turning the hose into a museum and tourist destination.
“I am happy that we have started the work today, on his birthday. It will be a special experience in the heart of Tirana, an apartment building that holds a lot of history, which had as Kadare’s neighbour the other great writer, Dritero Agolli; an apartment building that also caused Maks Velo to be sent to prison”
