The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, said that every cent received from
the new parking meters in Tirana will be used to pay for thousands of
trees that are going to be planted around the Albanian capital.
“This is a great way to guarantee parking for citizens and to also fund the Orbital Forest, a belt of trees that will surround our capital. The trees that you see here, and many others that will be planted this year, will be made possible thanks to the public parking SMS payment. I encourage citizens to use the public transportation and SMS parking, because this way they will also plant trees around Tirana”, Veliaj said.
The Agency of Parks and Recreation has started the second phase for the forestation of the park. 2000 trees were planted in March only.
The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, said that the Farka Park is turning into the second most attractive lake, after the Tirana Artificial Lake.
