Tirana Mayor: “Planting 50.000 trees each year for Orbital Forest”

The Tirana municipality planted 100 plane trees along the Ring Road, which were donated after the Mayor’s appeal that whoever owns a car, can donate two trees to reduce pollution.

“I am very grateful to the colleagues who are helping with 100 plane trees along the Tirana Big Ring Road. It will also be the border of the Orbital Forest. Only in the Southern side of the Artificial Lake, last year there were debates about why it was being cleaned from waste dumping and waste burning sites. But that was a right decision, because today we have a forest”, Veliaj said.

The Mayor said that they foresee to plant 50.000 trees in total for this year.

“We will break our record of 50.000 trees a year. I believe that we will have more than 100.000 trees in Tirana before we start the intensive planting work for the Orbital Forest”, Veliaj said.
