The Municipality of Tirana approved a pilot project through which children of four Tirana schools will do their homework at school.
The project will offer new services for students after they finish the teaching hours.
“The project allows that children in suburbs, with Roma and Egyptian population, communities in difficult economic situations, can stay at school after teaching hours in special groups and have dinner offered at the institution. They will be able to do the homework there before leaving school. Most of them lose a lost from what they are taught at school the moment they leave the institution and go on the road. We can select those who are most in need first”, said the Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj.
The program offers food after teaching hours, sport and entertaining activities. Then they will go back to class for the homework.
Veliaj said that the Budget for the next year will be 15% higher and that Tirana has had 200 new roads only this year. “We will keep this pace until the end of the mandate”, Veliaj declared.
