The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, expressed the solidarity of the citizens of Tirana regarding the emergent situation created in Athens as result of heavy fires.
Mayor Veliaj wrote on Twitter that they are saddened by the loss of life in this battle against fires, and underlined that the Municipal Council of Tirana will help Athens in this difficult moment.
The Mayor of Athens responded immediately and thanked the Mayopr of Tirana for solidarity, agreeing that they should start coordinating their work for the assistance offered by Tirana.
