Tirana Mayor announces measures against noise pollution

The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, said that the municipality, in cooperation with the Interior Ministry, will take serious measures against sound pollution by dividing residential areas from entertainment ones.
“Children must sleep before going to school, and families must be at acoustic peace before the new day. We are working with the Ministry of Environment, under the direction of the Prime Minister, to make sure that these spaces will be fixed in our cities, dividing residential areas from entertainment ones”, the Mayor declared.
Veliaj mentioned the fact that Numbeo, the European Agency of statistics, had listed Tirana among the safest cities in Europe. “Skeptics and cynics never hesitate to throw mud against the work done by our police, but I was very proud to see the results of Numbeo”, Veliaj said.
