Investments started by the Tirana municipality in 191 schools aim to
improve not only the infrastructure, but also to change an entire
mentality, that of having more than 40 students in one classroom.

The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, said that very soon the municipality will build 16 new schools. Three were already built and they will have qualified teachers working in them.

Veliaj asked parents to take their children to the new schools.

“We have three brand new schools and a fourth one that just had its foundations laid. We made sure that teachers with excellent results, who are part of the portal, will be distributed equally in these three new schools”, Veliaj said.

“You should not be angry at Municipal Police officers trying to free schools from those who try to turn them into markets. All vans and vehicles that transport merchandise, from September 11st will not be allowed to use Tirana’s roads before 09:00, to ease the traffic for children”, Veliaj said.
