On the 100th anniversary as the capital of Albania, Tirana will turn into an epicenter of many cultural and artistic activities, as a chance to give a new impulse to economy and tourism.
The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, traveled to Basel, at the Peace Cities Forum.
Veliaj introduced the transformation that the capital has gone through in the past and the plans for the next 100 years.
The Mayor said that the celebration of the 100th anniversary of its appointment as the capital of Albania will not be only a historic memory.
“We just introduced Tirana at the Forum of Peace, in Basel, one of the cities that not only has invested in culture, art and cooperation with European municipalities, but that also has its historic signature in many great events that have marked the history of the world.
“Therefore, it was a great pleasure to introduce Tirana in this 100th anniversary as a city of peace, a city of religious harmony, which has seen great developments since its creation, 100 years ago, and until now.
“We are going to make a tour through Europe to turn Tirana into the epicenter of all activities for its 100th anniversary.
“One way to celebrate its 100th anniversary is not only to remind the transformations of the past 100 years but also our plans for the next 100”, Veliaj said.
