Tirana faced floods last night which can be considered as the worst in
years. They have caused huge damages, especially in the aqueduct
network.

The Mayor of Tirana, Eno Bozdo, declared that due to the floods some areas in Tirana have been unable to get tap water supply, according to the vice mayor, Enno Bozdo.

“We had problems with Shen Meri, which supplies almost the entire city of Tirana. We also had problems in the “Old Bovilla”. Those areas will have no water if we are not sure about its quality. The water today will be missing only because we want to preserve their health”, Bozdo declared.

The communes around Tirana also didn’t have water supply today,.

The second person in charge at the Tirana Municipality guaranteed citizens that tap water in other places has been controlled and keep being used.

The heavy waters have created many other damages.

“Every collector in Tirana was blocked”, Bozdo declared.

As never before, waters have flooded schools and kindergartens. The Sabaudin Gabrani school has received more damages. The water covered almost half of the building’s height.

The respective municipalities and communes worked this Wednesday to remove the water and disinfect the premises, so that the children can return to classes.

The social apartments in Shkoze were damaged by the rains, together with many houses around. The municipality said they would establish working groups for identifying the damages that will be sent to the Interior Ministry for compensation.
