Changes with the loan agreement for funding the boulevard and
rehabilitating the Tirana River have caused debates in the Albanian
Parliament between the Minister of Finances and MP Jorida Tabaku.
Cani said the former government had taken loans without knowing where they would invest. Mrs.Tabaku, then Vice Mayor of Tirana, reacted by saying “a loan that didn’t exist was found for a project that didn’t exist even in the dreams of this Prime Minister. A technical project was done, which they are using today. If the former project had four modules, the one today has only two elements with the same amount of money”, Tabaku said.
Minister Cani answered by saying that the change was made by an expert of the former administration.
“The Minister of Finances said that this change was made by an international expert summoned by you, not us. He was the one who changed the destination of funds”, Cani declared.
