The municipality of Tirana celebrated its 99th anniversary of being declared country’s capital.
The Congress of Lushnja, in 1920, which voted Tirana as capital, was also considered as the Congress that saved and allowed the progress of the Albanian state.
The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, present at a commemoration ceremony, said that Tirana is today a decent, modern and metropolitan capital of our country.
“Tirana is getting to one century of existence, and the different times have brought many changes, but the symbol of the city, as the epicentre of all Albanians, has remained unchanged”, Veliaj said.
The Mayor also announced the construction two multi-modal transportation terminals in Kamza and Lundra.
