A few days after the explosion in the apartment of the Shkodra judge in the north of Albania, Tonin Stërkaj, the prosecution says that he was threatened earlier.

In two cases, the cases for which “incompetence” was declared and forwarded to the Lezha prosecutor’s office for investigation, turns out that a bullet was left in Stërkaj’s apartment in the form of a message in 2023.

While in 2019, two masked people recorded by the security cameras, tried to enter his house.

The judge stated at the time that he had two trials in hand, one for the exploitation of prostitution and the other for the charge of murder, a case that, according to judge Stërkaj, was accompanied by tensions in the courtroom and could be the motivation for the threats.

So the prosecutor of the case is gathering evidence for the last explosion in the judge’s apartment, an event that ended without major damages.

A special commission decided that the judge should be taken under protection and protection by the state.

Currently, 13 judges and prosecutors are under protection, headed by the prosecutors of Elbasan in central Albania, and a former prosecutor in Lushnje, as well as the special prosecutors of SPAK.
