The World Bank said that the recovery of the Albanian economy will be
slow and the growth will not be above 3.5% even in the next three years.
The pessimistic prediction comes from a recent report of the Global
Economy Perspective.
The report says that Albania’s economic growth prediction has been reduced to 3.4%, from 3.5% that it was in the past months. The biggest concern remains a prediction for a mediocre growth.
The document says the economic growth of Albania will be fixed at 3.5% for 2017 and 2018, different from the government’s expectancies, which claims that the growth will be over 4% in the next year.
The global crisis has apparently left long-term consequences in the country’s economy, shocking the foundations and shrinking any potential for quick development.
The limitation of the economic growth at above 3.5% for the entire mid-term, if proven, warns of a slow economic recovery. That would have good results In increasing the welfare of families and for the social challenges against poverty or development in key sectors.
Together with the IMF, the World Bank is assisting Albania in building a new economic agenda in sectors such as energy, finances or social defense.
