Albert Eqerem Veliu is known in Vlora as Babale, but also for his problems with money, alcohol and for being wanted by the Italian and Albanian Police.
He has never had a stable job. He has been unemployed for years and often asks his relatives for pocket money, entering into debt to many people.
He lives with his two sons at a two-story building, where, he says, after the confession, no one stays home. His neighbours refuse to talk about him.
He has served three years at the Peqin prison, after being extradited from Italy. He was sentenced to 7 years in prison after being caught in 2000 with 10 kg of cocaine.
