The General Prosecutor’s Office decided to call in another foreign expert, this time a British one, to investigate the video file of “Meta-Prifti” scandal.
The defending lawyers of the ex-minister of Energy and Foreign Affairs were called earlier this day to be in the know of this fact.
The British expert will investigate the audio of the video file. The American expert who previously investigated the images and assessed them as authentic, declared that was unable to give a final conclusion on the audio.
The American FBI expert declared that he was uncertain about some seconds of the audio in the video file.
Petrit Serjani, one of Ilir Meta’s defending lawyers confirmed for Top-Channel that the prosecutors informed him about the new decision.
Vice Minister Leonard Beqiraj was also present today in the General Prosecutor’s Office for the same reason.
Meanwhile, the defending lawyer of Mr. Beqiraj submitted to the High Court his demand to nullify the video file investigations. The case progress will now depend on the judge that will be chosen to proceed.
