The tunnel for the Bank robbery

Their initial plan sounded like an action movie screenplay. A tunnel
that led the way inside a bank, where robbers believed that they would be
able to steal as much as they could.

Taulant Troplini and Tahir Belegu were sent to Tirana’s Criminal Court on “bank robbery attempts” charges. They seemed very united in their failed plan, but it was all the contrary in court.

The defendant Belegu asked Judge Gerd Hoxha a shorter trial by admitting the charges presented by the prosecution, while the other collaborator, Troplini, asked a normal process.

For this reason, the Court divided the case in two trials, one for each defendant.

But in fact, the defendant Tahir Belegu had held another stance in court when arrested. He told the court that he was a businessman and the construction works were for the installment of a safe deposit that would keep great quantities of money, justifying this way the presence for the instruments that were seized by the police.

But now that he is admitting the charges, he will benefit a reduction of 1/3rd of the sentence.
