A bar that stood open in infringement of the Covid 19 restriction rules, became the largest and most dangerous epidemic hotspot in the city of Elbasan.
The restaurant is located very close to the Elbasan’s court and prosecutor’s office, and judges and prosecutors had lunch there. This seems to have been the reason why the owner of the bar felt also protected by Covid 19.
If this restaurant had not been open, in Elbasan today we would have only two sources of infections, both with history in foreign affected countries.
The Mayor of Elbasan gathered today the emergency council, stating that it is unacceptable that the cases increased by 300% only as a result of this violation.
But as if that wasn’t enough, this morning in the “Aqif Pasha” neighborhood, the municipal police discovered another open bar, where people were drinking their morning coffee as if nothing had happened. The owner of the restaurant was not only fined, but along with his clients were escorted to the police station.
